Plex is dead, I can't stand having to deal with the constant bullshit that the company keeps pulling. 
Here are some reasons:

• Every time a transcoded stream is started (downscaled for lower bandwidth for example) plex checks for updates to codecs, and if this check fails, the stream fails and you get a random weird error
• The entire server software dies every other update, I spend 3-4 hours every 2-3 weeks fixing this shit and I can't be bothered anymore
• They keep focusing on making new features instead of fixing broken old ones
• Almost every feature of the Plex pass I bought ages ago has been taken away and turned into a user only pass
• Plex is clearly going to abandon self-hosted media at some point
• fuck capitalism

I will be setting up a Jellyfin server instead, but this is a much less user friendly solution. The apps for various devices are far from as good and far from as many devices are supported.
